Day 24 - Kitchen Organizers {31 Cheap & Easy DIY Organizers}

Think you have to spend a lot of money on costly organizing tools to get your house in order?  Nope!  Getting organized doesn't have to be expensive!

Throughout this series I'm sharing ideas to help you organize your home by either

  • making simple organizers with things that don't cost very much OR
  • using items you already have in a different way.
If cost has been holding you back from getting organized, now you've got no more excuses!

Today I'm sharing cheap and easy DIY organizers for your kitchen.  The kitchen is the hub of your home and it works hard for you.  So it's important to keep it organized.  There are lots of kitchen organizers you can purchase to help you with this, but here are a few DIY ideas to save you some money.

  • Labels are very important in the kitchen.  You can label shelves, baskets, or specific items.  They help you know what you have so you can easily find things or return them to where they belong.  Here's a simple idea for labeling spice jar lids so you can see what's in each jar from the top.  Use a silver Sharpie marker!

Organizing Life With Less

  • Keep your old pop can boxes (or soda for my U.S. readers) to organize items in your pantry.  They work great for many cans (soup, vegetables, etc.).  But they also can be used for other shaped foods.  Like in this example where they were used to store baby and toddler food packages.

  • Don't toss those plastic containers that a lot of foods come in either.  You can use them to store other food items that come in packages that can't easily be re-sealed.  Like this example where a Crystal Light container was used to store cheese.

Family Centsability

  • If your kids do their homework in your kitchen, it's a good idea to have their supplies organized nearby.  There are lots of DIY ideas in this post for creating an organized homework station in your home.
