7 Ways to Be Organized For Easter

I can't believe Easter is less than a week away!  Maybe it's because it's still not feeling at all spring-like here, but it seems to have just snuck up on me.

If you're like me and need to get organized for Easter quickly, then these tips will help you prepare so you can enjoy the day with your family and friends.

I'm thankful that I'm not hosting an Easter dinner here, but for the sake of this post, I'll assume many of you are.  You can skip steps 1, 2, and 5 if you're celebrating Easter somewhere else.

Oh and since this isn't a craft blog or a decorating blog, I don't have posts to share to help you in those areas.  So I'm sharing some pics throughout this post from some of my blogging friends who specialize in these areas :)  Click the links below the pictures to get more details.

How are you doing in the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge?  It's the 86th day of the year today so if you started in January, your target is to have purged 86 items by now.  But don't worry if you've just started.  Just jump in!  It's always a good time to declutter :)

Today I'll be sharing what I've decluttered since my last update in February. By doing these monthly updates I hope to give you ideas of things you can purge from your home!

7 Steps to Get Organized for Spring!

Spring is one of my favourite seasons.  Summer is my absolute favourite, but spring is a close second.  I love the sense of new beginnings and new life after what always feels like a very long, cold winter (at least around here!).  There's nothing like the feeling of the first really warm spring day!

We're still in the midst of cold temperatures (around the freezing mark... nothing like the record-breaking temperatures we had in February... but still below normal). So even though my calendar tells me it's spring, I'm having a hard time believing it.

But, I know many of you are enjoying spring already!  And for those of us who aren't, there are still lots of things we can be doing now, to help us prepare for when it finally does "arrive".  That way we'll be able to enjoy that warm weather right away :)

Today I'm going to share a few ways that you can get organized for spring so that you can really enjoy the season.  Oh, and some beautiful spring pictures scattered throughout the post to help you feel more springy.  Follow the links below each picture to read more about each one.

Organizing Your Entry: Reusable Shopping Bags

Is your entry way cluttered or organized?  The place you enter your home can get pretty overwhelming sometimes.  It gets a lot of traffic! And you need to be able to find what you need when you're leaving, without a lot of searching and chaos.

Organization is the key to making this important area of the home function well!  It makes all the difference in how smoothly your mornings go, and how peaceful you feel when you return home.

Over the next few weeks, I'll continue sharing tips to help you declutter and organize your entry area.  I'll share some pictures of our entry and show you what works for us (and some tweaks I'm making), as well as share ideas you can use in your entry.

Today I'm sharing how I organize my reusable shopping bags and sharing tips to help you organize yours!

We Did It! So Can You! {Spring 2015}

Do you have clutter in your home but don't know where to start purging?  Do you feel like you don't have enough time to declutter?  Have you seen all the 365 Items in 365 Days posts and thought "I really should do that", but you keep putting it off?

You're not alone!  But you also don't need to stay in your paralyzed state.  You CAN declutter!  And to prove it I want to share some stories of people Just. Like. You.

Welcome back to the "We Did It! So Can You!" series.  This series is about real people decluttering their homes, one day at a time!  Busy people, with too much stuff, who decided to take the plunge and purge.

Today I want to share Alli's journey.

16 Tips for Organizing Basements and Attics

Once again, I'm so excited to be included in this month's Professional Organizers Blog Carnival!

What is the Professional Organizers Blog Carnival?  I'm glad you asked!  It's a monthly blog post that professional organizers contribute to.  Each month is a different theme and includes posts related to that topic from several professional organizers.  It's a great place to find advice, ideas, and tips for the theme of the month.

This month is all about Organizing Basements and Attics.  These areas of our homes are often the dumping grounds for anything we don't want to deal with or have space for in the main areas of our home.  And they can become overwhelming if they're not organized well.

So check out all the tips in this post and find the ones that will help you take back control of your basement or attic!

Organizing Ideas for the Weekend: Keys

Happy Friday!  Time for another organizing idea for your weekend!

Organizing Your Entry: Keys

Is your entry way cluttered or organized?  The place you enter your home can get pretty overwhelming sometimes.  It gets a lot of traffic.  Everyone in the family coming and going all the time... grabbing things on the way out the door... dumping things when they come back home.  We need easy access to coats, shoes, keys, purses, wallets, and school bags.  Not to mention hats, mitts, scarves, boots, and snow pants in the winter.  Ugh!  I'm overwhelmed just writing about it!

Plus, the entry area is the first impression guests have of your home, unless you're lucky enough to have an entry off the side or back of your home for your family's use, separate from the front door where guests enter.  But even if you don't have to worry as much about the appearance of your entry, you still need to be able to find what you need when you're leaving, without a lot of searching and chaos.

Organization is the key to making this important area of the home function well!  It makes all the difference in how smoothly your mornings go, and how peaceful you feel when you return home.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing some tips to help you declutter and organize your entry area.  I'll share some pictures of our entry and show you what works for us (and some tweaks I'm making), as well as share ideas you can use in your entry.

And I'm kicking the series off today with keys!
