How are you doing in the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge?  It's the 69th day of the year today so if you started in January, your target is to have purged 69 items by now.  But don't worry about that if you've just started.  Just jump in!  It's always a good time to declutter :)

Today I'll be sharing what I've decluttered in February. I know, I know... it's March already. But I've been on such a decluttering spree lately that I'm still catching up sharing my progress with you.

By doing these updates I hope to give you ideas of things you can purge from your home and inspire you that it doesn't have to take a long time!

My 365 Items in 365 Days Update {2016}

It's a new year in the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge!  If you struggled to declutter in 2016, this is a fresh start for you!  And if you joined the challenge part way through last year, you can just keep right on decluttering!

It's the 27th day of the year today so if you just started in January (or started afresh), your target is to have purged at least 27 items by now!  If you haven't started yet, just jump in!  It's always a good time to declutter :)

Originally I'd planned to share an update every month on what I declutter. But depending on what else I was blogging about or how consistently I blogged, my updates often ended up being several months of decluttering combined into one post. Well, I didn't end up blogging very consistently in 2016 at all, so I only had a January update post and then I shared my progress throughout December in the #NetZeroClutter challenge.

So, today I'll be sharing what I've decluttered from February to November last year and give you my year-end totals. I'll try to be more consistent in 2017 :)

By doing these updates I hope to give you ideas of things you can purge from your home!

Small Appliances With Multiple Purposes: How To Make Your Kitchen Feel Bigger!

Last fall I shared a post called How To Make Your Kitchen Feel Bigger - Use Items With Multiple Purposes.  I shared several items that you could use in different ways, rather than having a kitchen cluttered with items that can only do one thing.

Today I want to continue with the idea of items having multiple purposes.  This is my number one tip for making your kitchen feel bigger!  And I've got a small kitchen... so this tip really works!

How to Make Your Kitchen Feel Bigger - Use Items With Multiple Purposes

Do you have enough cabinets in your kitchen?  Do you get frustrated when you can't squeeze enough into your cupboards?  Do you struggle to get something out from the back of a cabinet because it's just too crammed full of stuff?

Kitchens are the hub of our homes.  We need them to function well.  But they are often one of the most cluttered rooms in our house!  No matter what size kitchen you have, it always feels too small.

But it doesn't have to be this way!  Today I want to share a way that you can make more space in your kitchen cabinets, so your kitchen won't feel as small.  You can do this by using items that have multiple purposes.

365 Items in 365 Days: January/February Update

How are you doing in the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge?  It's the 49th day of the year today so if you started in January, your target is to have purged 49 items by now.  But don't worry if you've just started.  Just jump in!  It's always a good time to declutter :)

Today I'll be sharing what I've decluttered since my last update in December.  As you know I was down and out for most of January, so I didn't do a lot of decluttering, but I will work extra hard next month to catch up with my average of 1 item per day goal!  Oh, and this doesn't count for me personally, but in the last few weeks I've helped my clients declutter approximately 5 giant bags of recycling, 8 bags of garbage, 6 boxes of donations, plus a bunch of large items for garbage, donation, or giveaway.  I love my job :)

By doing these monthly updates I hope to give you ideas of things you can purge from your home!

Top 10 Posts of 2014!

It's always fun to look back on a year and remember what happened.  We write a family letter in our Christmas cards and each one of us shares what our favourite memories are.  It's a great opportunity to be grateful and to end the year on a positive note.  This year, both my son and daughter's favourite moments were their birthdays (always a highlight), and our family trip to Disney World.  It was a trip we'd been waiting a long time to take, and we really enjoyed our time together.  I'm really glad it was such a highlight for them.  It was for me too :)

I also had fun looking back on the year on the blog!  When I write posts, I never really know what will resonate with you and motivate you to organize.  I'm delightfully surprised a lot of times at the feedback and response I get to certain topics.  So it's fun to look back at the most popular posts of the year!

I'd planned to write this post last week, but I my bronchitis had other ideas of how I should be spending my time.  Better late than never right?!

Happy New Year!

It's officially been 2015 for 5 days now, but this is my first new post of the new year, so I figure it's still OK to wish you a happy new year!

I've been down and out with bronchitis for the past week, so I haven't been able to write any new blog posts lately.  Bad timing for an organizing blogger to get sick... there have been lots of new people checking out my blog to get organized for the new year!

Giving Tuesday and the 365 Items in 365 Days "Prize"

Have you heard about Giving Tuesday?  Apparently it's been around for a couple of years, but I only learned about it this year.  Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after American Thanksgiving (and Black Friday and Cyber Monday).  It's a day for people around the world to give back and encourage others to give as well.

You can read more about Giving Tuesday here:

And this video summarizes it really well:

Why am I telling you about Giving Tuesday?  And what does this have to do with the 365 Items in 365 Days decluttering challenge prize?
