Day 19 - Drawer Organizers {31 Cheap & Easy DIY Organizers}

Think you have to spend a lot of money on costly organizing tools to get your house in order?  Nope!  Getting organized doesn't have to be expensive!

Throughout this series I'm sharing ideas to help you organize your home by either

  • making simple organizers with things that don't cost very much OR
  • using items you already have in a different way.
If cost has been holding you back from getting organized, now you've got no more excuses!

Drawers can become overwhelming if they aren't organized.  But you don't have to buy expensive drawer organizers to make a difference!  There are so many cheap and easy DIY options.

Check these out!

  • You can use empty boxes and packaging to organize your drawers.  It's free!  Snack boxes, greeting card boxes, cheque boxes, shoe boxes... the possibilities are endless!

Simply Organized

  • If you would like pretty boxes, you can either cover boxes or make your own boxes out of scrapbook paper.  Full tutorial in this post.

I Heart Organizing

  • If you don't want to make your own drawer organizers, think about other household items you can use in your drawers.  Like this silverware organizer.  It works great for office supplies or bathroom drawers where the items you're organizing are long and narrow.  Click the link below the picture for examples of using a silverware organizer to organize drawers.

Drawer organizers make it so much easier to keep small items separate and well... organized!  You can see what you have and easily find what you're looking for.  And, everyone can put things back where they belong so your drawers can stay organized :)

If you'd like tips on how to declutter and organize your drawers, here are several posts I've written on the subject.

You can find lots of other cheap and easy DIY organizers on my DIY Organizers board on Pinterest.  Make sure you're following me on Pinterest so you don't miss any DIY organizer ideas!

  1. I like to use boxes to organize too. I have referred to myself as a habitual organizer/re-organzer many times! BTW those little boxes checks come in make great desk organizers. Now, I'm on a mission to cover all those boxes in pretty paper.

  4. Love these ideas. I have used cereal boxes as well as silverware organizers. I found the latter most useful in my bathroom drawers. Paper-covered boxes really are an inexpensive, simple fix! And pretty too:)

    1. Silverware drawer organizers are perfect in a bathroom Kathleen! They are much easier to wipe out than cardboard boxes and bathrooms can get messy at times :) Pretty organizers really make it easier to stay organized, don't they?
